It’s official – we are staying in Puerto Morelos (in our current house) through March 2027!
Any and all are welcome to book a quick trip – just let us know to block the time! We are located 20-minutes from the Cancun airport and have a sweet minivan to pick you up!
Our original plan had us moving to Merida for October to March but for various reasons, we have decided to keep that as a “fantastic place to visit” and we intend to do just that this winter, including exploring a few more (new to us) towns in that area of the Yucatan, namely Sisal & Celestun. The new plan, starting in April, will be taking our time through Campeche and Chiapas for a week, then continuing the drive to the Lake Chapala area within a stone’s throw of Guadalajara to spend a year.
We had a great little trip to the top of the Yucatan Peninsula and toured pink salt lakes, drove an hour through a protected biosphere estuary, spotted hundreds of flamingos in the wild, and chilled in the quaintest beach town on the gulf. Even Journey officially became a beach dog and cooled himself in the sea water – until one good wave found his sweet face and he called it a day. That little YouTube video will come out next.
